In less than a year, our system has removed more than 1 million lumpfish and many thousands of salmon that have suffered from disease or injuries.<\/p>\n

The V\u00d8A ring\u2122<\/h3><\/div>

The V\u00d8A Ring\u2122 is a completely new fish handler tool that we believe most aqua technicians will find highly valuable \u2014 both during daily normal operations and when facing moderate biological challenges in the pen. The equipment is a temporary collection net which makes removal of fish more ergonomic, efficient and escape-proof.<\/p>\n

The V\u00d8A ring\u2122 is a floating collection net that technicians drag around the pen during removal of sick and\/or wounded fish. It can easily be secured to the handrail if you wish to work stationary, or if you want to remove floating fish from the center of the pen. The V\u00d8A ring\u2122 can hold 200-300 kg of fish and can easily be lifted onto a work boat with a crane for emptying into a tank. This eliminates the need to walk back and forth with fish to empty the hand held sorting net \u2013 resulting in more efficient use of time and it is very ergonomic for the technician. The risk of escape is reduced as the fish are not lifted out of the pen with a hand held sorting net. The V\u00d8A ring\u2122 makes it possible to complete ring rounds and removal of cleaner fish and sick or wounded fish without the work boat needing to be at the pen because it weighs only 11 kg and can be easily lifted by one person. This provides greater flexibility at the site.<\/p>\n

The V\u00d8A ring\u2122 is also available with a wet bag. A dedicated sorting net is under development and will be available during the fall. It is very lightweight and ergonomically designed to optimize the process of fish selection in combination with the V\u00d8A ring\u2122<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

LiceSweep\u2122<\/h3><\/div>

LiceSweep\u2122 is a system for diluting lice larvae and other organisms\/foreign elements in cages that reduce water quality and the living environment for salmon. LiceSweep\u2122 is a floating filtration unit that is towed around the cage along the net wall and captures all particles larger than 0.15 mm. Based on hydrodynamics and the buoyant properties of lice larvae, it is in this zone of the cage that a high concentration of especially newly hatched nauplii is observed. By removing the lice offspring from the cage, internal infection pressure within the cage is reduced. By using light attraction at night, it is also possible to draw copepodites towards the net wall, thereby creating distance from the salmon in the center of the cage and guiding them into the zone where they can be filtered.<\/p>\n<\/div>

The system uses release hooks in the same way as the 360FishSweep\u2122 and filters approximately 2,000 liters of water per second. It is 4 meters wide and 1.5 meters deep. The system can also be used in combination with lasers, ensuring that both mature lice and their offspring are effectively thinned out.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

V\u00f8atec is seeking collaborators to strengthen the data foundation for this method and is therefore offering this system at a favorable price in 2024 to participants who wish to contribute.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The BioNet\u2122<\/h3><\/div>

The BioNet\u2122 is a hand net with filter fabric (350 microns) for filtering out particles and other organisms\/foreign elements from the water in the pen – also chain jelly fish. The BioNet\u2122 has a telescopic handle with a length of 90-225 cm and an opening of 67 x 53 cm.<\/p>\n
